Our original designs come from our studio in California and reflect a blend of modern, arts & crafts and traditional influences.Exotica's artists come from a long Central Asian and Indian heritage of pietra dura. They imbue our products with a unique depth of beauty that resonates with most everyone who sees these works of art. Pietra dura is similar to a stone mosaic where individual pieces of natural stone are assembled to create a decorative accent. Instead of the uniform shapes of stone mosaic, pietra dura pieces are individually shaped to create a painting in stone. Our art tile is entirely handmade; this is not a waterjet cut or manufactured product. Our artists hand select each piece of marble or semi-precious stone, using the shadings of color and the grain of the stone to increase the artistic affect. All our art tiles are made to order and delivered within 6 to 8 weeks.
